Australian Kelpie

Non-KC Pedigree, Medium

Moderate shedding

Not good for first time owners

The breed is named after a dog called Kelpie, who herself was named after the shape-shifting spirit of Celtic legends. It was long believed the breed had dingo blood in them - but science has since proved there's no such ancestry. Science hasn't yet confirmed or denied any shape-shifting provenance...

Collie lovers who are looking for something a little different to train or work.

Not the best for ...

The lazy! The mythical kelpie preys on humans - and a bored Kelpie will eat you for breakfast (metaphorically speaking)!
