Border Collie

KC Pedigree, Medium-Large

Moderate shedding

Not good for first time owners

Universally recognised as the smartest dogs in the world, the Border Collie has been helping humans for centuries – and continues to do so, both on and off the farm.

Attractive to ...

An energetic, active training home, where these dogs can use their brilliant brains. From herding and sniffer dog work, to mastering all the dog sports, this dog is a whiz. If they could hold a pen, they'd probably complete the sudoku for you too!

Not the best for ...

Those who like to be alone. Collies follow their people everywhere, like enthusiastic shadows.
