Cairn Terrier

KC Pedigree, Small

Moderate shedding

Not good for first time owners

The Cairn is a lean, mean digging machine! Taking its name from the rocky outcrops of the highland moors where it would hunt and dig out the vermin, the Cairn's front paws are bigger than its back paws. Centuries later from when it was first developed, the pet Cairn's digging exploits are still legendary!

Attractive to ...

A terrier enthusiast, who digs determined diggers and likes the Wizard of Oz.

Not the best for ...

Keen gardeners. Cairns will need a dedicated area where they can dig to their paws' content – otherwise, your lawn and prize begonias will be in peril!
