Cocker Spaniel

KC Pedigree, Small-Medium

Moderate shedding

Good for first time owners

It's not for nothing that the breed is called the Merry Cocker. With an ever-wagging tail, lots of enthusiasm and devotion for their family, these dogs are happiness personified.

Attractive to ...

An active, fun home where someone is at home for most of the day (a bored, lonely Cocker is not a merry one and will bark and chew in unhappiness).

Not the best for ...

Those that want a hardcore gundog. Cockers still have some instincts from their past, but most are mainly professional pets these days. The sportier Working Cocker is quite a different variety and would fit the bill instead.

Folkvang Cockers

I was brought up by my granddad's German Shorthaired Pointer, so dog is in my blood. I have 2 degrees and a teaching qualification; one in Biochemistry and one in Mechanical Engineering; and have spent many years studying animal behaviour and psychology of humans (not much separates the 2 if truth be known). My day job is teaching teenagers science and animal care. I also teach agility classes, on a Sunday in Berkshire, to a small friendly group of people who want to have fun and build their relationships with their dogs. The rest of my time is spent with my large family of furry people. We walk, play, swim and have fun together - sometimes we make puppies, sometimes we do competitions, breed or agility at the moment, but in the past we did obedience and working trials as well.

Syrup Cocker Spaniels

Hi all, I’m Cally. I have two beautiful Cocker Spaniels, a Black Sable, Maple (4 years old) & a Chocolate Sable, Treacle (2 years old). Both are totally and utterly loved as family pets. I decided this year that it would be lovely for Treacle to have her first litter. So that other people can experience the unconditional love of having a dog. This is Treacle’s first litter and she has been a fabulous Mummy, it has been a lovely experience raising this litter! I want these puppies to go to loving homes, just as loved as they already are. Thank you! Cally
