The Dachshund means 'badger dog' in German, as these iconic short-legged dogs would hunt badger and burrow underground after them.
Someone that wants a companionable, glam 'big dog' in a more compact size.
Keen gardeners. Dachshunds love to dig and unless you can provide somewhere 'legal' for them to do so, your cherished flowerbeds and lawn will be fair game.
Standard Longhair Dachshund
Small enough to carry when necessary.
Medium (About an hour)
Doesn't have to be a solid hour, you can give them lots of short walks.
Jacket and skinny trousers
Any feathering can get knotty. Some coats self-clean by depositing mud all over the kitchen floor.
All canines drop some hair, think of it as dog glitter!
