Dogue de Bordeaux

X-Large Size

Moderate shedding

Not good for first time owners

This French Mastiff may have descended from the gladiator dogs of war that were brought to France by the Roman legions of Julius Caesar. From guarding rural farms to hunting, droving and hauling, this dog has done it all. Once bull and bear baiting was banned, the breed was mostly used for guarding, and, in more recent years as a full-time pet.
