Flat Coated Retriever

KC Pedigree, Medium-Large

Moderate shedding

Not good for first time owners

Called the Peter Pan of the dog world because they never grow up, the ever-wagging Flat Coat was popular on shooting estates in the 1800s, retrieving waterfowl with enthusiasm.

Attractive to ...

An active, training-minded family with someone home most of the day. Flatties love working, playing and being with their loved ones.

Not the best for ...

Those who can't cope with wet dogs. The Flat Coat will find water or mud wherever it is – and doesn't think twice about having a quick dip or wallow.
