Where the shorter-legged Basset Fauve de Bretagne hunted rabbits, the larger Griffon Fauve hunted wolves! This they did from the 13th century until the wolf's decline in the early 1900s, turning their attention to deer and other quarry.
A scenthound fan, who knows to train and work what is essentially 'a nose on legs'!
Someone who wants an only dog. Griffons are pack hounds and love to live with their own kind, as well as their human family.
Big, but will still fit in a small car.
Medium (About an hour)
Doesn't have to be a solid hour, you can give them lots of short walks.
If not hand stripped will go fluffy. If you don't pluck their fur in the old fashioned way they transform from spikey to soft.
All canines drop some hair, think of it as dog glitter!
