Italian Greyhound

KC Pedigree, Small

Moderate shedding

Not good for first time owners

The Italian Greyhound has all the elegance of the larger sighthounds but miniaturised. The beloved companion of Meditteranean nobility 2,000 years ago and of European royalty, the breed was especially viewed as a status symbol during the Renaissance.

FACT SHEET

Attractive to ...

Keen knitters. The Iggy has a very thin coat and feels the cold easily. A jumper or three would be appreciated when it's chilly.

Not the best for ...

The clumsy. Iggy's are fine-boned and breakages can occur if stepped or fallen on. For the same reason, families with younger children would be advised to wait till the kids are older.
