Considered by many to be the original designer crossbreed, the Lurcher is a cross between one or more sighthounds and one or more pastoral working breeds. They were developed at a time when poor people were forbidden by law to own Greyhounds.


Attractive to ...

Fans of long legs, long noses and long sofas.

Not the best for ...

Squirrel lovers or owners of small furries – possibly including cats. The prey drive of a Lurcher is so high that they just won't mix!

Match with a breeder

Upon completing your introduction call a breeder will review your application. If successful you’ll be able to arrange a meeting and be accepted onto their waiting list. A Tailwise fee of £95 (excl. VAT) will be due at the point you pay a deposit.
